Instructions for Use

The purpose of the Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. Standard Service Equipment Program (SSEP) is intended to provide authorized Mercedes-Benz dealers and their affiliates with comprehensive and updated information about approved workshop equipment, and to assist dealers when making equipment related capital investment decisions. Further it is intended to assist dealers to formulate an opinion about the equipment and to augment the information that may be issued by equipment suppliers and other advisory sources before investing in equipment.

The SSEP catalog combines a catalog, specific notes/information on the requirements, prerequisites for equipment use, quality assurance provisions and general useful information concerning workshop equipment.

The SSEP catalog is also intended to provide a convenient source for obtaining approved equipment.

By using the Standard Service Equipment Program, the Mercedes-Benz dealer can enjoy a host of benefits including:

  • Confidence in the knowledge that the equipment purchased has been evaluated, and approved for use in servicing of Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
  • Convenience of having equipment specifications contained in a single reference source. Keeping abreast of the latest workshop equipment is simplified since information updates and new items are sent to the MB dealer.
  • Assurance of purchasing equipment at the best price and without having to expend time and effort comparing the various models.
  • Professional technical advice available from Mercedes-Benz and our designated equipment representatives.
Please note that MB Special Tools are referenced in this catalog where they are either accessories of workshop equipment or if used in conjunction with specific workshop equipment. MB Special Tools, identified by the tool number format "xxx 589 xx xx xx", are available via the MB dealer's parts department.
