TRANSMISSION REPAIRNOTES, REQUIREMENTS, INFORMATION, ETC.
Automatic transmissions, in particular should be disassembled and repaired in clean rooms, isolated from other workshop areas; a separate room should be set aside for this purpose. Besides a work bench with a vice or mobile transmission stand, the following should also be available, e.g. :
- Tear-down Bench (stainless steel) with tapered surface and fluid capture feature.
- Washing facility for small parts.
- Basic transmission mounting stand (116 589 00 59 00) with various specific MB adapters (MB Special Tools)
- Tool Boards for MB Special Tools, transmission shims and circlips.
- Oil Drain pans.
- Shelf for storage of the adapters.
- Microfiche and Reader, Diagnostic Library and WIS access.
- Desk
- Oil binding agent ( for floor spills) and oily waste containers, etc.
