Mercedes-Benz Workstall Definitions Revised May 29, 2003
Mercedes-Benz Mechanical Workstall A service department workstall with (or without) a lift, specifically designated for the mechanical preparation, reconditioning, diagnosis, repair, adjustment and scheduled maintenance of Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Minimum workstall dimensional requirements are as follows:
Center-Aisle Configuration: - Workstalls with "in-ground" lifts = 12' wide x 24' deep - Workstalls with "above-ground" lifts = 14' wide x 24' deep - All corner workstalls = 15' wide x 24' deep
Side-Loaded Shop Configuration: - Workstalls with "in-ground" lifts = 12' wide x 27' deep - Workstalls with "above-ground" lifts = 14' wide x 27' deep - All corner workstalls = 15' wide x 27' deep
MKS-Compliant Wheel Alignment Workstall: - With Maybach Franchise = 24' wide x 27'-6" deep - Without Maybach Franchise = 18'-6"' wide x 27'-6" deep
Dynamometer stall: - Dynamometer stall = 19' wide x 27' deep
Mercedes-Benz Wash Stall A stall designated solely for washing Mercedes-Benz vehicles that is equipped with the necessary supply plumbing, floor pitch and drainage. Minimum dimension requirements are 12’ wide x 24’ deep for a center aisle shop, and 12’ wide x 27’ deep for a side-loaded shop. All corner wash stalls must be 15’ wide. When a dealer’s wash/detail stall requirement equals four (4) or greater and an automatic car wash is installed, this type of equipment is “credited” the equivalent of three (3) standard wash stalls due to its productivity advantage over manual washing operations.
Detailing Stall A flat stall designated solely for the cosmetic detailing of vehicles. Minimum dimension requirements are 12’ wide x 24’ deep for a center aisle shop, and 12’ wide x 27’ deep for a side-loaded shop. All corner detailing stalls must be 15’ wide.
